1. Acceptance of these terms #

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Political Integrity Network (“PIN”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of https://politicalintegritynetwork.org and the PIN services. By creating an account or using PIN, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use PIN.

2. Eligibility #

You must be at least 13 years old to use PIN, and you must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. PIN is not directed to children under 13. Because PIN involves civic communications and organizational roles, we may require a higher minimum age for certain features or accounts; where we do, we will say so at the point of use. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.

3. Account registration #

You create a PIN account by signing in through a supported identity provider (Google, and Microsoft when enabled). You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your account.

4. Authentication and security #

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your sign-in method and, if enabled, your two-factor authentication. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend access to protect the service or your account.

5. Roles and organizational accounts #

PIN supports different roles: constituents, members of congressional offices, and members of nonprofit organizations, each with different capabilities. A role governs only the corresponding product features; it is never a platform-administration capability, and one role does not grant another’s authority.

6. Constituents #

As a constituent, you can find your representative, communicate with the office that serves your district, participate in polls, and discover community resources. You agree to use these features for genuine civic purposes and to provide accurate information (such as the address used to determine your district).

7. Lawmakers and office staff #

If you represent a congressional office, you may claim the district your office serves and add staff, subject to verification signals we use (such as a congressional email domain). Office members may handle constituent communications routed to their district. You agree to use constituent information only to serve constituents and in compliance with applicable rules. An office role is not a platform-administration role.

8. Nonprofit organizations #

If you administer a nonprofit, you may create and manage a profile, invite team members, and receive consented referrals. You represent that you are authorized to act for the organization and that the information you provide is accurate. Listing does not imply endorsement by PIN.

9. Verification and claiming of organizations and offices #

Claiming an office or organization relies on signals such as email domain or tax-exempt identifiers. These signals are not a guarantee of authority, and we may review, limit, or revoke a claim. Misrepresenting your authority to act for an office or organization is prohibited.

10. Permitted use #

You may use PIN for lawful civic purposes: understanding your representation, communicating with offices, participating in civic features, and finding or offering community resources.

11. Prohibited conduct #

You agree not to: impersonate any person, office, or organization; submit false, harassing, threatening, or unlawful content; misuse constituent information; attempt to access accounts, offices, or data you are not authorized to access; scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data except through any interface we expressly provide for that purpose; interfere with or disrupt the service; or use PIN to send spam or to unlawfully influence, deceive, or defraud.

12. Civic communications #

PIN provides structured civic communication between constituents and their representative’s office. It is not a public forum or social network. We tell you honestly whether a message can be delivered (for example, when an office has not yet joined PIN). You are responsible for the content you send.

13. Referrals and casework #

An office may connect a constituent to a nonprofit through a referral. Personal information is shared with a nonprofit only with the constituent’s explicit consent, and only the limited contact the constituent agrees to. PIN facilitates the connection; it is not a party to any services the nonprofit provides and does not guarantee any outcome.

14. Polls #

Offices may publish polls; constituents may respond. Results are shown in aggregate. PIN does not attribute individual answers to individuals and does not use responses for political profiling. Do not attempt to manipulate poll results (for example, through duplicate or automated voting).

15. User-submitted content #

You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as messages, questions, and organization profiles). You are responsible for it and represent that you have the right to submit it and that it does not violate the law or these Terms.

16. License to operate the service #

You grant PIN a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, process, transmit, display, and route your content solely as necessary to operate and provide the service you requested (for example, delivering your message to the correct office). This license is for operating PIN, not for advertising, resale, or unrelated commercial use, and it ends when the content is deleted, subject to limited retention described in the Privacy Policy.

17. Public-record and legislative data #

PIN presents public government records and related analysis (bills, votes, members, and grades). This information concerns public officials and government activity and is provided for information only. It may contain errors or omissions and may not be current; consult primary sources for consequential decisions.

18. The Quiet Ledger legislative intelligence #

Bill grades and related legislative analysis are supplied by The Quiet Ledger, a separate product. They are analytical outputs produced under The Quiet Ledger’s methodology, not official government determinations and not statements of objective fact. A TQL entitlement does not grant any PIN authority, and PIN roles do not grant TQL privileges.

19. No government affiliation #

PIN is not Congress, a government agency, or an official government communications system. PIN is an independent civic platform. Using PIN to contact an office is not an official government filing, and PIN is not endorsed by or affiliated with any government body unless a specific, verified partnership expressly says otherwise.

20. No guarantee of government response #

PIN does not guarantee that an office will read, respond to, or act on any communication, or that any particular office participates in PIN. Delivery within PIN does not guarantee any government action.

21. No guarantee of nonprofit service or eligibility #

PIN does not guarantee that any listed organization will provide services, accept a referral, or that you will qualify for assistance. Organizations are independent; PIN does not control and is not responsible for their services or decisions.

22. No legal, medical, financial, or emergency relationship #

PIN does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice, and using PIN does not create any professional or advisory relationship. Information on PIN is not a substitute for professional advice.

23. Emergency situations #

Do not use PIN for emergencies. PIN is not an emergency service and messages are not monitored for urgent needs. If you or someone else is in danger or needs urgent help, contact your local emergency number (such as 911 in the United States) or an appropriate crisis service.

24. Privacy #

Your use of PIN is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information.

25. Intellectual property #

PIN, its software, design, and the “Political Integrity Network” name and marks are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. Except for your own content and public government records, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the service without permission.

26. Feedback #

If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use it to improve PIN, without obligation to you.

27. Third-party services #

PIN relies on third-party providers (for example, sign-in and hosting) and links to third-party resources (such as government records and organization websites). We are not responsible for third-party services or content, which are governed by their own terms.

28. Suspension and termination #

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, or create risk or legal exposure, and we may modify or discontinue features. Where practical we will provide notice.

29. Account deletion #

You may stop using PIN and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy). Some records may be retained as described there for legal, security, or audit purposes.

30. Disclaimers #

PIN is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that information (including grades and public records) is accurate, complete, or current.

31. Limitation of liability #

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PIN and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

32. Indemnification #

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless PIN and its operators from claims, losses, and expenses arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or of the law.

33. Governing law #

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The specific governing state and venue will be identified here as our corporate details are finalized.

34. Dispute resolution #

We prefer to resolve disputes informally, please contact us first at support@politicalintegritynetwork.org so we can try to resolve the matter. These Terms do not currently impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver. If we adopt such provisions in the future, we will present them clearly and give notice before they take effect.

35. Changes to these terms #

We may update these Terms. When changes are material, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
